Stage Classes

NOTE:  There are other populations in the Tucson area and at least one has not declined since the 1980's.  
   
Stage Class Definitions:  
  Seedling Cotyledon leaves or remnants still visible, plant under 15 cm tall in the wild, color a bright lime-green, leaves pentagonal in outline, but not deeply divided or lobed.
  Juvenile Cotyledon leaves or remnants not apparent, plant up to 25 cm tall, leaves becoming divided and lobed, color a slightly darker green.
  Non-Reproductive Adult Leaves deeply three-lobed, dark green, plant stems few to several, some over 30 cm long, but no reproductive structures visible.
  Adult Stems up to three meters long, several from a subsurface tuber, some woody, leaves dark green, deeply three-lobed, reproductive structures--flower buds, flowers, or fruits--apparent.
